Garmin Varia RTL516 Rearview Radar With Taillight - Black

The Varia RTL516 is a StVZO-compliant taillight with integrated radar technology capable of detecting vehicles from a distance of up to 140 meters.

 

When a vehicle approaches, the bike radar provides the cyclist with audible and visual alerts via a connected display unit or a compatible Garmin device (such as an Edge computer or wearable). The sleek, aerodynamic Varia RTL516 mounts tool-free to the seat post of road, touring, or city bikes. A battery life of up to 9 hours supports even longer rides. The Varia can also be used directly with a smartphone via the Garmin Varia app to provide alerts about approaching vehicles.

Pair your Varia rearview radar with this app, and you’ll ride like you have eyes in the back of your helmet. Car coming? Bright, colourful alerts on-screen will get your attention. When your phone is out of sight, stay notified with tone and vibration alerts. When paired with your compatible Varia rearview radar device, the Varia app alerts you of vehicles approaching from behind up to 140 meters away. Even if you already have a Varia radar paired with your compatible Garmin device or head unit, using the app on your phone provides additional awareness.
