The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan is Dyson’s first purifier fan. It uses Dyson’s Air Multiplier™ technology and a 360º glass HEPA filter to capture harmful, ultra-fine particles in the air.
The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier is a dual function machine. It offers year-round purification and circulation, whilst providing smooth, long-range personal cooling in summer. It is the only air purifier with Air Multiplier™ technology and oscillation, to circulate purified air across the whole room.
How it Works?
The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan uses Air Multiplier™ technology and Dyson’s own 360º Glass HEPA filter. Air is drawn in through the 360º Glass HEPA filter and then accelerated through the machine. Dyson’s own filter is made of 1.1 square metres of constructed borosilicate microfibres, pleated 254 times to capture more ultra-fine particle than others.
1. Air is drawn into the filter by an energy-efficient, brushless motor.
2. A low face velocity of air travels through the 360º Glass HEPA filter, which filters out contaminants and
ultra-fine particles from the air.
3. A high-velocity jet of purified air exits the loop amplifier at a high velocity and is channelled by an
airfoil-shaped ramp, creating a long-range stream of smooth air.
4. More air is drawn in from the surroundings, amplifying the initial airflow even further.
360º Glass HEPA filter:
The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan uses one efficient HEPA filter. This is a glass media made from constructed borosilcate microfibres, pleated 254 times. The Dyson filter is able to capture more harmful ultra-fine particles as small as PM0.1. It has a layer of activated carbon granules to capture odours and harmful toxins like paint fumes.
No fiddly Maintenance
Unlike some conventional filters, no maintenance is required. Some purifiers rely on you changing, washing and drying your filters every month. Waiting for the filter to dry can result in six hours without the use of a purifier. With the Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan, it takes less than 60 seconds to replace the filter. The filter is engineered to last 4382 hours, which is based on 12 hours use a day for 12 months.

PM2.5 is the term for tiny particles of liquid or solid suspended in the atmosphere. When we breathe them in they can cluster on the lining of the lungs. They’ve been linked to heart attacks, strokes and skin aging. PM0.1, or ultra-fine particles, are much smaller. They travel further into the lungs and collect in the smaller branches and gas exchange regions. They are small enough to penetrate the blood stream.
Other purifiers force out harmful ultra-fine particles. The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan traps them.
Conventional purifiers have a high face velocity. Face velocity is the volume of air passing through the filter every second. This means they force air through their filters, which can cause harmful ultra-fine particles to escape back into the room. The Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier has a lower face velocity compared to competitors, and combined with a high-efficiency HEPA filter, this means that 99.95% of harmful ultra-fine particles, as small as PM0.1, stay trapped in the filter media.

The new Dyson Pure Cool™ purifier fan removes 9.95% of particles, including pollen. In colder weather, settings 1-3 will circulate purified air around the room. When you need personal cooling and purified air throughout your room in the summer, setting 4-10 will generate smooth, long-range airflow, simultaneously circulating purified air.

Conventional purifiers don’t oscillate, and they typically release purified air straight up to the ceiling. The independent motor drives smooth oscillation, and combined with the Air Multiplier™ technology for long range projection, it circulates purified air across the whole room.
